Message from 2018 PA ENA President

Posted over 6 years ago by Deborah Clark

2018 is here and the national conference will be held in our great state of Pennsylvania! I am excited for the opportunity to host EN18 and showcase our wonderful state. I am honored to be your president and to have the privilege to serve while the national spotlight is on my home town. I hope that you will all consider attending the conference or volunteering- we’re going to need lots! There is precedent that when a national conference is held in Pennsylvania, the annual Horizon’s conference is deferred to the following year. We look forward to seeing you at the Hershey Lodge June 7 & 8, 2019.

This year will be a year of improving communication and upgrading technology. Over the last six months we have worked diligently to finalize the strategic plan. Finalize is a misleading term as it is a working document and will be updated regularly. One of the most exciting goals is to implement a remote call-in option for state council meetings so that more members can participate. We are also one of four states partnering with National to trial a “microsite”. This is a website that will be linked to National’s and has many benefits. Watch for the notice that it is available for viewing in the coming weeks.

There is also a venue change for the state council meetings. We will be meeting at the Ramada in State College at a significant cost savings to the Council as well as any member who attends. The dates and room rates are posted on the current Nursing Network website. I hope to see and hear more of you at meetings this year! Please continue to participate in your local chapter-they need you and you will benefit as well.
